Curated by Miguel Flor
The residency has the goal of involving local artisans in Walk&Talk’s
creative bubble, fostering the creation of new products based on
certified techniques by CRAA (Azorean Regional Centre for Craftwork).
The residence proposes the intersection between visual artists,
designers and artisans, crossing traditional techniques with new
conceptual models, which allows the transition to new media and
products. The group will be composed of 6 artists that will seek in the
invited artisans new techniques and work processes.
The residence has resulted in a set of
prototypes / products that will now be marketed under the brand
RARA (Residência Artesanato da Região dos Açores), bringing value
and innovation to the local craftwork and to the Azores brand.
The RARA project will now be developed in a logic of continuity and
with a view to the commercialization and distribution of its products.
